Everything on this site, guides, questions, the Meeting Prep Card, the Case File, exists to help you prepare, organize, document, clarify and ask better questions. The recommendations are generated by transparent rules from your answers. They are not professional judgments about your child, your school or your situation.
Not legal advice
Special education law is real, state-specific and situational. Nothing here interprets it. Phrases the tool deliberately avoids: “the school violated…”, “they are required to…”, “you can force…” are avoided because they’d be legal conclusions, and no preparation tool should hand those out. If you need legal advice, consult a licensed special-education attorney in your state; if you need advocacy, a qualified advocate; if you need evaluation, qualified evaluators.
No determinations about your child or school
The tool does not determine eligibility, diagnose conditions, interpret test scores or judge whether goals, services or accommodations are appropriate or sufficient. “Goal Clarity Review” asks whether certain practical elements are present and understandable. A baseline, a measurement method, dates and generates questions to ask. A missing element is a question, not a finding.
Your documents, your responsibility
Generated documents are first drafts for your review and editing. You decide what to print, say, send and sign. Accuracy of the observations you enter is yours; the value of a dated log or summary email depends on honest, specific entries.
The honest sales pitch
We charge $49 for the Case File because building and maintaining it costs money. Not because it wins meetings. It won’t. Parents who get good outcomes from IEP meetings usually combine organization like this with collaborative persistence and, when needed, professionals. This tool covers the first part and makes the other two easier.
